Scott Shoham
CEO/Owner

Scott has worked for Alvin & Company on and off from age 8 until he left for business college. He joined his father, Alvin Shoham, at Alvin & Co. permanently in the summer of 1979, soon after finishing college. Scott started out doing overseas ordering, and later became involved in catalog production, new item creation, and sourcing.

In 1980, he started traveling with his father to Europe, always keeping an eye out for new ideas. Alvin & Company prides itself on being a small, family-owned business, and we look forward to many more years fulfilling the needs of our customers.

DIANE GALE
Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Joining Alvin in 1999, Diane oversees sales, marketing, IT, finance and human resources. She is a key member of the strategic planning and initiatives team, and part of the product development team.

Although Diane thought she was destined to become an architect, she majored in Accounting and Business Administration at Westfield State University. Prior to joining Alvin, she held management positions with a major telecommunications innovator, an aerospace controls manufacturer, and an interstate transportation company. She also freelanced as a sign painter, and one of her favorite jobs was produce and flower farming.

Diane was born and raised in rural Massachusetts, where she and most of her siblings still live within 3 miles of the family home. She has one daughter, a son-in-law and currently one granddaughter. In her leisure time, she likes to get her hands dirty – raising pet mallard and wood ducks, drawing and painting, creating silver jewelry, and she plays golf every weekend with her husband.

ANDREW GALE
Director of Operations

Andrew is responsible for implementing our customer support programs. He is one of those people who wake every day excited to devise new methods to improve our operations and services. Since joining Alvin in 1999, he has spurred our evolution by bringing exciting new information systems into our warehouses and service centers. He is most proud of his remarkable staff. "Working with people dedicated to exceeding our customers' needs is what sets Alvin apart from the competition."

With a background in accounting, manufacturing, and technology, Andrew spends most of his time working with customers and staff to implement the innovative solutions that have made Alvin a valued partner and resource to all of our customers. You see the results in our high fill rates and speedy fulfillment and loyal customer base.

A Jaycees Past President, Andrew pursues creative hobbies with metal clay, painting, fused glass, and golf among his favorites.

MIKE MAYERCK
Director of Sales

Mike joined Alvin & Company in December of 2012 as Director of Sales. He has over 30 years of sales experience in the Art, Craft and Notions Industries. His career started as a Sales Representative with Pentel of America in Virginia and Chicago. Mike's experience includes working for major companies such as Binney & Smith (Crayola, Liquitex), Koh-I-Noor Rapidograph, The Grimstad Comerford Group (Independent Sales Organization) along with Executive Positions at 3L Corporation (Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™) and Bernina of America. Mike currently resides in Arlington Heights, IL with his family and travels the country regularly for Alvin.
